Description

Making better use of data for sustainable development – new approaches to impact evaluation and evidence synthesis

The course will cover methods for the analysis of experimental, quasi-experimental and observational data. It will show how to rigorously evaluate the effects of interventions and policies exploiting natural experiments and quasi-experiments, and how to make best use of existing data to address bias. It will incorporate recent advances in statistical and econometric methods to answer the following questions: Complexity: how do we assess the impact of complex interventions when outcomes are affected by many factors at the same time? Equity: how do we assess impacts for small groups, such as vulnerable people, within a population? Generalisability: how do we transfer the evidence on the impact of interventions across contexts and address potential biases in the evidence base?

Hybrid short course with varying price - amend amount as per discount if applicable.
